President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, promised that he would not let the country down.

He said the ruling All Progressives Congress would free Nigeria from corruption and bad governance.

The President said these in a statement made available to journalists by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

The President also said he would soon bring all speculations to an end by naming a Presidential Campaign Council to lead the APC to victory in the February 2019 general elections.

He said he was aware of the yearnings of Nigerians for the formation of a full Presidential Campaign Council towards the APC’s victory in the presidential elections.

He added that he appreciated the growing interest that Nigerians had shown in the issue, and he was conscious of their keen expectations.

However, President Buhari implored members of the party and the public to exercise some patience regarding the constitution of the PCC.

He said he and party executives were, for now, focused on the APC convention scheduled for Saturday.

He said the Presidential Campaign Council would be put in place after the convention.

“We are the party that will free Nigeria from corruption and poor governance. We are the party of change. We will not let the country down,” Buhari added.
